Sistema de recompensas | Autoridade Fitness

Você já tinha ouvido falar sobre o “sistema de recompensas” do nosso organismo? 🤔

Esse nome é usado pra descrever uma rede de neurônios ativada por meio de estímulos que causam sensações prazerosas. Ele funciona com a liberação de hormônios (como a dopamina) em várias regiões do cérebro, mas principalmente em uma parte específica chamada núcleo accumbens. A liberação da dopamina nesta região altera as sensações de motivação e desejo, influencia a experiência subjetiva do prazer e facilita o aprendizado da sensação de recompensa!

Receptores de sabor avisam quando o consumo de sal for alto demais, mas não existe um mecanismo de segurança que proteja o organismo do consumo excessivo de açúcar. Por isso, é fácil comer um pacote inteiro de bolachas recheadas e ainda querer mais! 🤤 E é aí, quando você ingere doces em excesso, que acontece a sobrecarga do sistema de recompensas! Uma pessoa que consome açúcar em grandes quantidades ou com grande frequência satura seu cérebro de dopamina e tem a transmissão dessa substância prejudicada. Com o tempo, o cérebro aprende nossos hábitos e a expectativa em relação ao doce pode ser tão grande que a própria ideia de comê-lo já causa o aumento dos níveis de dopamina e da sensação de prazer 😱

Diversos estudos compararam os efeitos do açúcar no cérebro com os de drogas como a cocaína, por ambos funcionarem como gatilhos do sistema de recompensas. Por mais que existam evidências, ainda são necessários mais estudos para investigar se alimentos palatáveis podem, assim como as drogas, ativar o sistema de recompensas de forma que seja necessário aumentar a quantidade ingerida com o tempo. Por enquanto, é mais sensato falar em “abuso” de doces do que em “vício”. Apesar disso, a paixão por chocolates atingiu tamanha proporção, que a comunidade científica adotou os termos “chocoholic” (chocólatra) e “chocoholism” (“chocolismo”), para expressar o desamparo de alguns indivíduos ao evitar essa substância “viciante” 😍🍫
